Understanding AI Emotional Intelligence

Welcome to our collaborative effort to develop a comprehensive framework for evaluating emotional intelligence in AI systems.

This project examines AI capabilities including:

• Sensing emotional indicators and cues
• Explaining mental states and emotional reasoning
• Responding appropriately in emotionally charged contexts
• Adapting to diverse cultural norms and evolving social signals

Our interdisciplinary team will collaboratively identify, measure, and validate essential constructs across various levels of human-AI interaction.

The project maintains independent oversight. Our aim is to produce a gold standard EQ benchmark through unbiased, interdisciplinary collaboration.

We are currently in Phase 1: Initial literature review and first pass construct identification.
